Who we are
For anything about this notice, contact [email protected].
What we collect
If you use the Household Bundle Calculator, we ask for figures you choose to enter — for example postcode, electricity and gas usage, and what you currently pay for energy, broadband and mobile — so we can show you an estimated comparison. This information stays in your browser unless you go on to submit a Household Review.
If you submit a Household Review, we collect your first name, email address, phone number, postcode, and your answers about your household and what you'd like us to look at. If you used the calculator first, a summary of that comparison is included automatically so you don't have to re-enter it.
Providing your name, email address, phone number and consent is required to submit a review, because a member of our team calls you to talk your review through. Postcode is optional. Calculator figures are only ever provided if you choose to use the calculator.
Why we use it
We use the information you submit to carry out the Household Review you've asked for: to look at your circumstances, get in touch, and talk you through anything that may be worth considering. We rely on the consent you give when you submit the review form as our basis for contacting you about your review, and do not rely on any other lawful basis for this processing. We do not use the information you submit in your Household Review for marketing beyond responding to your enquiry. Our use of cookies is separate, relies on its own consent, and never affects how we use anything you tell us in your Household Review — see "Cookies and advertising measurement" below.
Who sees it
Your review is looked at by a member of the HomeMinded team so they can follow up with you. If you decide to proceed with a specific household service after your review, we would share the necessary details with that provider at that time. We do not sell your information. If you switch on Marketing cookies (see below), any data shared with Meta is limited to the anonymous measurement information described there — never your review answers. If you switch on Analytics cookies, Microsoft receives the site-usage information described there — never your review answers.
Cookies and advertising measurement
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage). Necessary cookies keep the site and calculator working and are always on.
We also offer a Marketing cookie setting, which you can switch on or off in our cookie banner or at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. When switched on, it loads the Meta Pixel so we can measure how our Facebook/Instagram advertising performs. It sends Meta signals — that you viewed a page, started or completed the calculator, or submitted a Savings Review — together with an advertising click identifier and campaign information where present. If you submit a Savings Review with this setting switched on, we also send Meta a scrambled, one-way version of your email address and phone number (created using a standard cryptographic technique called hashing, which cannot be turned back into your original details), along with standard technical identifiers your browser already shares as part of normal web browsing, such as your IP address and browser type. This helps Meta match your enquiry to the advert that led to it. We never send your plain email address or phone number, and we never send your postcode or anything about your household costs, calculator results, tariffs, or quote, to Meta under any circumstances. Nothing from Meta is loaded, and nothing is sent to Meta, unless this setting is switched on.
We also offer an Analytics cookie setting, which you can switch on or off in the same way. When switched on, it loads Microsoft Clarity, which helps us understand how visitors use this site so we can improve it. Clarity records how you interact with our pages — such as clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement — together with technical information such as your device type, browser, screen size, approximate location (country) and the pages you visit, and uses it to produce heatmaps and replays of browsing sessions. It sets cookies on this site (_clck and _clsk) to recognise your browser and link the pages you view into one session, and Microsoft may set its own cookies too. Our review form and the calculator are masked from Clarity, so your name, contact details, answers and any figures you enter there are never recorded. Clarity data is sent to and stored by Microsoft, which provides the service — see the Microsoft Privacy Statement (privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement) for how Microsoft handles it. Nothing from Clarity is loaded unless this setting is switched on.
Your choices are stored on your own device only, apply from that point onward, and you can change or withdraw them at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. If you withdraw Analytics consent, Clarity's cookies are deleted.
How long we keep it
We keep your Household Review information for as long as it remains necessary to carry out your review, follow up with you, and meet any legal or accounting requirements, after which it is deleted. We do not yet have an automated deletion process — records are reviewed and removed manually — and this notice will be updated if a fixed retention period is introduced.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do this, email [email protected] — we will respond within one calendar month, as required under UK data protection law. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
